I just bought the Razer Naga to mainly use in Windows Explorer, Adobe Photoshop & Premiere
, but the mouse doesn’t allow re-binding button functions for normal use inside any operating system – only in games like Warcraft and Warhammer. Quite a disappointment.
I e-mailed their tech support and got a clear answer:
“Unfortunately the Naga does not have the capability to do what you want as it is designed as an MMO mouse in particular. Our other mice have this functionality, just not the Naga as it would create a very unfair advantage with that many bindable keys within an MMO. “
My e-mail was:
“
I just bought a Razer Naga mouse, but I can’t find a way to bind the 12 number buttons to other functions inside Windows Vista, like CTRL+V, CTRL+C, ALT+F4, CTRL+W, CTRL+T, F2, WIN+M, ..
I bought the Naga to add more functionality to my mouse in Windows. I assumed that supporting complex binds for games like Warcraft and Warhammer also implied it supported at least a basic button bind utility outside games. I’ve been re-binding my mouse buttons for many years now with various Logitech mice, Logitech adds a little button configurator utility to most of their mice software.
I’ll probably send back the mouse to the online Razer Store if I can’t change the button functions in Windows. I currently use a Logitech VX Revolution with just 10 buttons in total, but I’ve bound 5 to alternative functions to increase my working speed in Windows Explorer, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Premiere ..
Please help, I like the mouse grip and precision ..
“
So now I’m still waiting for a mouse that can help me with extra buttons.
I’m already using gmote to speed up the process, but it’s difficult to remember all mouse gestures ..

I need a mouse with + 10 re-programmable buttons, maybe this one? (don’t know if I can redefine its side buttons though) The Visiontek XG6 3D Gamer Mouse 3D High Resolution Laser Mouse:

What I need is a mouse with a shitload of re-definable buttons, anyone ideas?
